Bookmarklets

Home | About Librarianship | Becoming an Open Librarian | Librarian Issue Tracker | Bookmarklets | Sandbox (old wiki-editing playground)

Bookmarklets are small pieces of JavaScript code which you store and run on-demand in your browser to conveniently access tools for your Open Library work! For general info, see bookmarklet on Wikipedia.

Customize language of titles and covers

Bookmarklet for scanning a list of results and replacing titles and covers with those in a specific language, when available.

For example, a list of works for an author, such as https://openlibrary.org/authors/OL7044246A/刘慈欣
or a list of Hugo Award winning novels: https://openlibrary.org/search?q=subject:%22award:hugo_award=novel%22

Gist: https://gist.github.com/MignonBelongie/02019888af8a44811850458d891350e2

The gist is for English, but can easily be used for other languages by replacing the language code ('/languages/eng') with the desired one.

Data Quality Score

This bookmarklet adds a widget to search results, authors, and lists pages displaying various data quality metrics. Purpose is to have a view in the quality of the data records.

Instructions, images, and code are at the GitHub gist: https://gist.github.com/cdrini/520c85be68c8768aefb84f19939e7def
