The John Newbery Medal is a literary award given every year since 1921 by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), to the author of "the most distinguished contributions to American literature for children".
One book wins the Newbery Medal each year, and a handful of others are awarded Newbery Honors. This collection only contains the Newbery Medal winners. For the full list of more than four hundred honorees, click here.
Note: If a book says it is "not in library," it might still be available! Click on the book's cover to see more options. There might be one of the editions that you can borrow.
